  • The first ever Networked Mic Stand- AES67 conversion on the go!

    Ward-Beck was proud to unveil the first ever networked mic stand at the 2017 NAB Show, where it proved to be a showstopper at our booth.

    The first of its kind, our networked mic stand is an all-in-one networked device that houses a microphone pre-amp, analog to digital converter and AES67 stream builder, all in the stand itself. The mic stand is a regular straight stand, with a weighted base that houses the audio equipment. The microphone provides analog audio input, and RJ45 AES67/Ravenna stream comes out. The gain is set remotely using our new PreMote Control.

  • AMS2-N exhibited at Tonmeistertagung as part of Ravenna booth

    Ward-Beck is be exhibiting our AMS2-N AES67-compatible Cue Speaker at the 29th Tonmeistertagung Conference in Cologne, as part of the Ravenna® booth. Tonmeistertagung is an internationally renowned European conference covering broadcast, film, video, sound production, interactive media, distribution and program exchange, stage and event, hardware and software production, research and development, as well as teaching and training of same.

    Our entry-level AMS2-N speaker is cost-effective solution for networked monitoring. It is equipped with both Ravenna® AES67 and Digital AES inputs, as well as a Digital AES output and the headset output. It offers high-quality and cost-effective Ravenna® AES67 to AES conversion in a 1RU rackmountable package.

  • Introducing the preMO mic preamp!

    The future of Audio over IP is here!

    The dream of networked microphones is a reality with Ward-Beck Systems’ preMO-A1 microphone preamplifier.  Combining 50 years of pre-amplifier and format conversion experience, the preMO-A1 is the convergence of analog audio, digital conversion, and IP based networking.  Designed with input from trailblazers of broadcast system engineering, the preMO-A1 is a forward-thinking AES67 (Ravenna®) network audio device.  Microphone in, multicast out.

     

    Industry features

    The PreMo-A1 is an all-in-one network on-ramp;  combining a microphone pre-amp, analog to digital converter, AES67 stream builder and network interface controller.  Optimized for ultra low noise amplification, a CMOS controlled pre-amplifier accepts microphone and line level signals with a uniformed frequency response. Condenser microphones are energized by 48 Volt phantom power.  Addressable variable gain of up to 63dB can be applied by the PreMo-A1.  The PreMo-A1 supports  sampling rates of 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit depth.  Greater than 122dB of dynamic range is achieved with an innovative analog to digital channel summation technique.  A low latency AES67 stream is packetized and transmitted through a standard RJ45 connector.  Synchronization, media clock selection, network transport, session description and connection management are handled by a friendly graphical user web interface. In alpha release, an intuitive set of local controls adjust the sensitivity and phantom power while being displayed by a backlit on-board OLED display.  


    Simplified wiring
    The PreMo-A1 can powered directly by an external power adapter, and is also a PoE-compatible device. With Power over Ethernet, a single ethernet cable carries the data signal and provides operating power, eliminating the need for external power. Unlike frame-based interfaces, the PreMo-A1 is the source, not the destination.  Deploying standard networking cable and switches decreases the cost of infrastructure installation significantly. Housed in a lightweight enclosure, the PreMo-A1 stays close to the sound source, eliminating the threat of RFI. The rugged aluminum case is built to withstand the rigorous 24/7/365 work hours of the broadcast industry.

  • 32ME-N - Powerful AES67 Audio Monitor - convert your audio to and from a Ravenna AES67 network

    With the NAB 2016 Trade Show fast approaching, we are proud to introduce the most powerful of our lineup of AES67 compatible products: the 32ME-N Audio Monitor, a bi-directional AES67 converter on steroids! The 32ME-N allows 16x16 conversion to and from a Ravenna AES67 network. We will be demonstrating the 32ME-N at NAB 2016, so please attend our Booth C1941 in Central Hall for a first hand look at how this unit works, if you are planning on attending the show.

    A bi-directional AES67 converter on steroids!  The powerful 32ME-N allows 16x16 bi-directional AES to and from AES67 network.  Ensure that your signals are getting to their destinations at a glance using the 32 channels of high resolution metering, 16 of which are dedicated to the AES inputs, and 16 dedicated to the 16 AES outputs.   Also provided is an analog monitoring pair output for aural confidence.

    Features of the 32ME-N include:

    • Thirty-two high brightness, 22-Segment LED Audio bargraph displays
    • Audio level displays in groups of eight (four stereo pairs) to facilitate identifying signal pairs   
    • A red LED at the zero (0) reference mark to allow signal levels to be judged from a distance   
    • A blue LED to indicate the audio pair selected to feed the stereo headset jack and analog monitor output.  
    • A multi-function rotary dial and eight character read-out to ease control of the unit   

    The powerful 32ME-N comes packaged as a sleek 1RU unit, and is equipped with AES67 and AES/EBU Inputs, as well as AES67, AES/EBU and Analog Monitor outputs. Connections are made via DB25 for AES/EBU In/Out, Euroblocks for Analog Monitor Out, and RJ45 for AES67 In/Out.

    As with our entire audio monitor lineup, the 32ME-N has been designed to withstand the rigor of the 24/7 broadcast industry working time. Its small size and rackmountable form factor makes it perfect for use in space-constrained broadcast studios and mobile production trucks.

  • AMS8-1AN Multichannel Audio Monitor - with Ravenna® AES67 Networking Capability

    Previously, we have announced our Ravenna Partnership, and the introduction of the AMS2-N - our first AES67 compatible product, as well as the MLC8-N Multichannel Level Controller with AES67 outputs. Today, we are proud to introduce the third product in our lineup of AES67 compatible products: the AMS8-1AN Multichannel Audio Monitor, which is designed to extract and listen to audio signals on an AES67 network. We will be demonstrating the AMS8-1AN at NAB 2016, so do attend our Booth C1941 in Central Hall for a first hand look at how this unit works, if you are planning on attending the show.

    The AMS8-1AN is a compact 1RU aural and visual monitor designed to extract and listen to audio signals on an AES67 network. Complete with eight precision LED bargraph meters and a sophisticated built in speaker system it allows you to hear and measure the quality of your networked audio signals. It provides the individual extracted AES signals for local distribution or processing. The flexible control platform allows the unit to be factory configured to suit your needs or operating style.

    The powerful AMS8-1AN comes packaged as a sleek 1RU unit, and is equipped with AES67 and AES/EBU Inputs, as well as Analog, AES/EBU and AES67 outputs. Connections are made via DB25 for Analog, Euroblocks & BNC for AES/EBU, and RJ45 for AES67.

  • MLC8-N Multichannel Level Controller with Ravenna® AES67 Networking Capability

    Following up on our Ravenna Partnership Announcement, and the introduction of the AMS2-N - our first AES67 compatible product - we would like to introduce the MLC8-N, a multi-channel level control with Ravenna® AES67 Networking Capability. We will be demonstrating the MLC8-N at NAB 2016, so do attend our Booth C1941 in Central Hall for a first hand look at how this unit works, if you are planning on attending the show.

    The MLC8-N offers an eight channel on-ramp converter to a Ravenna® AES67 network. Equipped with eight individual level controls as well as an overall master level control the MLC8-N allows proportional mixing of the input signals before delivery to the network. Audio input signals to the AMS8-N may be analog, balanced or unbalanced AES. All signal levels are metered on the eight precision LED bargraph meters. This device is ideal for controlling your signals before inserting them into your network. It also offers the individual level controlled AES signals on the rear panel for further distribution. A line level analog audio output that may be fed to a stereo speaker system allows local monitoring of individual signals (solo) or the overall mix of the input signals.

    The powerful MLC8-N comes packaged as a black 1RU unit, and is equipped with Analog and AES/EBU Inputs, as well as Analog, AES/EBU and AES67 outputs. Connections are via DB25 for Analog, Euroblocks for AES/EBU and RJ45 for AES67.

  • AMS2-N Audio Monitoring System with Ravenna® AES67 Networking Capability

    Hot on the heels of our Ravenna® partnership announcement, we would like to introduce our new AES67 capable Audio Monitor, the AMS2-N, which we will be showcasing at NAB 2016! Networked monitoring has never been more simple or cost effective!

  • Mission AoIP: A fact-finding journey to New York.

    Our Engineering team went down south to New York this week on a fact-finding mission about Audio over IP. We had the chance to meet with, and interview, some awesome folks from ABC, NBC and CBS. We even got the chance to peek into an ABC mobile unit covering the Papal Visit!

    Most of all, we gathered some very crucial information about AoIP, and what it means to our customers. This is going to be of great help to us in designing products designed for AoIP.
